This will inevitably evolve but, currently, the following applies.
- No support for projects involved in trading live animals or animal parts (except SOME breeding or translocation programmes conducted in the sole interest of animal conservation/welfare).
- Unless exceptional circumstances dictate, no support for projects promoting and/or conducting the lethal or non-lethal utilisation of wildlife for sport.
- Firearms or other 'military' equipment MAY be supplied to projects authorised by Governments to utilise deadly force to protect wildlife.
- Lethal management (of non-threatened species) to be tolerated ONLY if incontrovertibly required, with the absolute minimum of kills conducted with maximum consideration for animal welfare.
- Distribution of products from lethal management to be examined on a case by case basis.
- Rhino welfare to be placed uppermost where human/rhino conflicts arise. Although currently politically incorrect, RHINO RECOVERY is and always will be a 'protectionist' organisation.
